3-31-11: rSkills

Announcements: Any students who would like to stay after school for help/tutoring on Monday, April 4th will need to meet me outside of Room 229. I’ll be in a meeting there and an multi-tasking.

Thank Goodness It’s Grammar: Students completed the 3-31 TGIG. If you weren’t here, it is your responsibility to use this website to make it up by Friday, April 1st.

Activity: Students took the second rSkills test of the year on computers, and then completed the third of four Read 180 Reading Log entries for the week. During small group, students worked from handouts you’ll find in your folder if you missed class.

Activity: Today, students turned in Progress Reports (signed) and I checked On-demand Notes. Finally, students wrote and turned in the On-demand Editorial (with the Kentucky Writing Scoring Rubric) at the end of class.

Homework: Check your comments on Turnitin before tomorrow’s class!

Outline, Round 2

Thank Goodness It’s Grammar: Students completed the 3-30 TGIG. If you weren’t here, it is your responsibility to use this website to make it up by Friday, April 1st.

Activity: Today, I checked for parent/guardian signature on Progress Reports(passed out yesterday — Tuesday, March 29th) and then students began the English IVB Poetry Essay Outline. Everyone had to et a thesis statement initialed by me before class let out.

Homework: Students must finish the first page of the outline before tomorrow’s class.

Student Essays

Thank Goodness It’s Grammar: Students completed the 3-30 TGIG.

Activity: Today, I checked for parent/guardian signature on Progress Reports (passed out yesterday — Tuesday, March 29th) and then students began discussing the following student essays from “The Century Quilt” Poetry Essay Practice after taking Parliamentary Debate Notes. If you weren’t here, please annotate and score them on your own.
