Summer!

Activities: Today, the groups who were signed up (Check out the sign-up sheet I posted on Friday, May 28th.) presented the Lord of the Flies Persuasive PowerPoint Presentation. Students who presented also turned in copies of Lord of the Flies. In between presentations, all students filled out the Lord of the Flies Persuasive PowerPoint Presentation Peer Evaluation. Students turned in evaluations at the end of class. It’s been real, folks!

The horror! The horror!

Today, on our last day together, students picked up and paid for t-shirts that Lauren Tibbs designed just for us! If you didn’t get yours (and you signed up to buy one) get in touch with Lauren! Congratulations, Seniors!

Today, on our last day together, students took a 50-question multiple choice final exam. The exam was not on the computer. If you missed it, you’ll have to pick up a copy from the main office. Have a great summer!

Lord of the Flies Final Exam

Apples to Apples?

Announcements: If you signed up to get an AP shirt from Lauren Tibbs, bring me your $$ tomorrow! Shirts are in, and they are AWESOME!

Activity: I collected books (Heart of Darkness) from students who had not yet turned them in, and students played Apples to Apples — probably my favorite game ever!

rSkills Test #3

Announcements: Tomorrow is our final exam, a cumulative, end-of-year rSkills test.

Activity: Students won’t do bell-ringers this week. (That’s right, folks! No Thank Goodness It’s Grammar!) Students spent time taking the third rSkills test and then wrote the Persuasive Letter On-demand.

Activity: Students spent the class period working on Lord of the Flies Persuasive PowerPoint Presentation. Don’t forget to use the outline sheet! Make sure you PowerPoint is posted to edmodo (7b68vl) by the day on which you present. Here’s the breakdown:

Final Finals

200 Points!

Announcements: Final exams are coming up! Be sure to get a great breakfast for Tuesday and Wednesday! It has been a wonderful year! Also, if you did not get a chance to sign the poster for your pledge to graduate, please let me know!

Thank Goodness It’s Grammar: Students started class by completing the 5-26 TGIG.

Activity: Students got grades out of 200 on the Read 180 Argumentative Process Piece Cover Sheet. Students then worked at both the instructional software station and the independent reading station. At each station, students earned participation points and at independent reading students got a grade for the Read 180 Independent Reading Log.

Note: I put in grades for several items today.
